These are being held in conjunction with our most recent volume, "Childhood Obesity," to be released March 14, 2006. More information on these events will be posted on this website, www.futureofchildren.org, closer to the dates. March 13, 4:30 pm, Robertson Hall, Princeton University, Princeton, NJ: "Diet in Decline: Can America's Over-Nutrition Crisis Be Reversed?" Professor Kelly Brownell, Director of the Yale Center for Eating and Weight Disorders, and Dr. Roger Platt, Director of School Health for New York City, will discuss the topic of childhood overweight and obesity. March 14, 9:00 am, The Brookings Institution, Washington, D.C.: "Childhood Obesity" A panel of federal policy makers and state practitioners will examine the recent epidemic of childhood obesity, and in particular the role of schools in fighting this problem. February 6 to March 31, 2006, Bernstein Gallery, Princeton University, Princeton, NJ: Art Exhibit on Childhood Obesity: The Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University will feature an art exhibition highlighting the changed environments that have aided the increase in childhood obesity. |
